The base of PEAR table light is designed, manufactured and hand turned using European Beech timber. Beech is a light-coloured wood with a straight grain and even texture. The European Beech we use originates from mainland Europe.
The versatility of Beech supports its use for a range of tasks including chairs, tables, flooring, turnery, mouldings and is traditionally the most popular wood for furniture components but used here to create a super stable simple designer base for a lamp. The simplest of concepts using natural material.
Sustainability of UK beech wood supplies is generally high due to the species’ fast growth and widespread presence in sustainably managed forests across Europe. While UK-native forests have some seed sourcing challenges for beech, the overall supply is considered plentiful and sustainable, especially when sourced from certified, responsibly managed forests. Its use is further supported by the ability to recycle wood waste from the manufacturing process and the potential for the species’ range to expand as the climate warms.
The base of PEAR table light is simply finished with BEESWAX and has a non-scratch base for stable placement on polished surfaces.
PEAR on Beech table light is controlled by On/Off by touch. Three colour temperatures of light by touch and dimming by constant touch until desired brightness is achieved from state-of-the-art technology and ground breaking LED’s.
